Brian Jaggs awarded BEM

Congratulations from Chelmsford Motor go out to former club chairman and secretary and Preston clerk of the course Brian Jaggs, who has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to policing in the recent Queen's birthday honours list.

As well as being an active CMC committee member, event organizer and competitor, Brian spent thirty years as a police officer, 'retiring' as a chief inspector and the returning to the force in a civilian role, where for the last twenty years he has managed the Essex & Kent IT services team, notably providing 2,500 laptops in three weeks to keep both forces running as frontline staff moved to home-based working in the pandemic.

Brian was club chairman in 2009 when CMC was awarded MSA Club of the Year. He is featured in this week's Essex Chronicle.
