Hi Everyone, as you can see from the entry list, 11 crews have entered. Such a good entry will need the support of quite a few Marshals to man Time Controls. I also need an Equipment Car crew to put the Control / Code Boards out on the route. As usual TC2 and TC3 have 15min OTL to enable the Marshals on these Time Controls to get to and Marshal the last but 2 TCs. If you would like to come out and help on the night, it will be very much appreciated by all. You can let me know via the Forum or eMail me on
. Start / Finish is at the Hare and Hounds PH Leavenheath (see "Regs" for MR) and the route is on the Essex /Suffolk borders.
Unfortunately due to a couple of health issues, I am short of Equipment Car and Opening Car crews. If you would like to come to my resuce and do either it would be very much appreciated. As far as I can see, the event is in jeopardy if I can't find volunteer crews for these roles.
In agreement with Nick...thank you to everyone involved with the 12 car in all ways....organisers, marshals (including those intending to be there but couldn't) and fellow competitors. Particular thanks to Graham who didn't have the easiest of times with marshal allocation this week and to Jane for managing us on arrival at the pub!
Congratulations to Ben & Steve on their win....the only crew to win 2 events in this championship....and very much deserved. Well done to everyone else who took part too...a couple of very clever bits of navigation kept our brains whirring.
Thank you to Luis in particular for last night and all the events this year...it is so nice to look forward to a 12 car at the end of a work week when I know I'm with someone whose just out for the enjoyment of it.
And finally an extra thank you to all for being such a lovely bunch of people....it's what really makes these events so great...the friendliness and support. I needed it more than normal last night and it is the reason I got myself to the event...knowing what a nice atmosphere there would be :)
Many thanks to all the competitors and marshals for supporting last nights CMC March Hare 12 Car 2022. I have to say it was not one of the easiest events to organise and I didn’t share Paul’s optimism but thanks to everyones efforts, we pulled it off. A big thank you to Ed for his suggestion at the Awards Night to put the code boards out in the afternoon as we weren’t running an Equipment Car, paid off. Just! Jim and I got back to the pub at 7:20pm. A quick turn round and Jim was off again accompanied by his daughter Beth to do the Opening Car.
I was please we had full entry and a good representation across all classes. Unfortunately two crews were unable to make it due to health and other issues. Similarly, some marshals suffered similar issues hence most TCs had a single marshal.
Best part of the event for me was when everyone returned to the pub. Many thanks to Paul for totting up the timecards and a full set of results will be available shortly.
Congratulation to Ben and Steve taking 1st overall on 0 fails and 1min
Luis and Lucy taking 2nd overall 1st Expert on 0 fails and 19mins
Julie and Nick taking 4th overall 1st Novice on 1 fail and 22mins
George and Crow taking 6th overall 1st Master on 2 fails and 1min
James and Stuart taking 9th overall 1st Beginner on 11 fail and 19mins
Good results by all crews and it is encouraging to see the Beginners making progress. Lets hope it bodes well for next season.
And finally, I would like to say a big thank you to my wife Jane for all her support during the planning of this event and doing the signing on duties at the pub.
Just back from emptying the closing car of boards, stakes, clocks etc. well done to all who took part, shame we got back too late to see some of you in the pub. Well done to Graham and Jane and all the marshals and officials, especially those who stepped on at the last minute. Thanks Lucy for those kind words - it is that friendliness that keeps us all coming back year after year!
I too ache having spent a few hours heaving the "big blue bus" around some of the bumpiest and twistiest roads that I have encountered. A long, slightly underpowered car with a poor turning circle and very heavy steering, I certainly had a good work out last night. Thanks to Colin for letting me drive his Triumph again, it felt very strange driving home in the much faster and more nimble Fiesta!
Thank you Graham for puttng on another good event, thanks to all the marshalls who gave their time to stand out in what was thankfully a fairly pleasant night and of course thank you to all our fellow competitors. I hope we did not hold any of you up for too long, we tried to let others pass where possible!

Put me down for one or two controls. Could also drive or navigate a course car if someone wants to come with me.
Jim
Many thanks Jim.
