Hi all,
It may seem a bit early to start the forum for the March Hare 12 Car Rally but this being my 1st attempt to organise an event of this kind for the club, I think I am going to need as much time and help as I can get. Many thanks to Paul Barrett and Tony Michael for their support during the planning phase.
I know it is a long way off but I would like to appeal for volunteers to marshal TCs and the roles of Chief Marshal/Clerk of the Course, Opening and Closing Car duties. If you are able to help please let me know via the forum or email at: graham.e.robinson@btinternet.com . Offers to help with the organisation and running of the event on the day will be very much appreciated.
The event will start and finish at the Red Lion PH at Finchingfield, Essex, MR 167/686328. The route will be approximately 60 miles through lanes north and south of the Essex/Suffolk border. The March Hare 12-Car regs will be published on the website towards the end of February.

The entry list is filling fast but I know Graham needs some more marshals. He's on holiday at the moment but please volunteer via this thread or the email address above.
Thanks for your help!
We still need more marshals for the above event. If you live in NW Essex it would be particularly suitable as the route starts in Finchingfield and goes towards Haverhill and the drops down towards Braintree. If that is close to you then please give us an hour of your time on a (hopefully) pleasant spring evening!
Thanks
Paul
Disaster has struck - I've lost my navigator again this month - as he is still out of work, he is living back at home in Lancaster at the moment, with it not being feasible to travel down just for a Friday night event.
Are there any map readers out there who fancy a steady cruise around in a old Triumph?
If so please get in touch :-)

I received Gee Warner/ Vini Cruz entry fee at the "Tendring 100" but I have not received their entry form. Can either Gee or Vini please contact me ASAP regarding their entry. The insurers need to know what level of insurance is required.
"Finals" will be available on Wednesday evening.

Hi all,
I still need so more volunteers to man Time Controls on Fridays event. If you can help, please contact me via eMail or 07777 692 022. It will be very much appreciated.

I know one of the beginners wanted a Poti for the last 12 car; we failed to appear at the start but I did bring an unwanted one with me and will do again on Friday.
It is a cheap one with a plastic lens, but works and is free to a good home - like a beginner :) It has a 6.3mm jack plug but I think I have a cigarette lighter plug adaptor somewhere so I will bring that too.
First to ask gets it, either here or on Friday.
Colin.
no sign of a solution to my navigator deficiency, so best to pull my entry please. As I'm also suffering from a seemingly unshakeable bout of man-flu this week, apologies but I'll have to say as it stands currently, I will be unavailable to marshall unless my health improves. I'll be in touch if the sitruation changes

Any sign of the finals?
Hi all,
I have just eMail'd to "Finals" hopefully all the crews. If I have missed out either your driver or navigator can you please forward the "Finals" to them.
It is going to be a very busy night for the organisers because we are a bit thin on the ground. It will be very much appreciated if we can start the scrutineering at 18.45 hrs sharp. As you will see in the "Finals" I would like to hold a drivers briefing at 19.20hrs. Any problems eMail me at
.
See you Friday.

We really enjoyed last night, thanks Graham and all the officials. Route was good, timing right and the nav tested without being impossile.
Except the second handout! We were lucky that it was a short section to the known control MR and there seemed only one way to go for the time and distance, so we went for it. But I still don't understand the clock numbers, if that is what they were. I am sure somebody will explain soon for me.
Colin.
Thank you Graham and the Marshalls for great evening. It was nice to have a rally slightly closer to home. Some good roads and nice navigation though some how we managed to drive the same loop twice on the last section. It was a new experience for myself in the drivers seat and the willpower needed not to interfere with my daughters plotting was immense. The time spent at the kitchin table teaching Rachel how to plot payed dividends with a class win on her first ever rally and we both had a fantastic time. The wife's car also survived and I wonder how many wheelchair accessible cars have competed in this type of event before.
Mark and Rachel
Thanks Graham and all your marshals. A bit of a trek up from Kent for us but well worth it as nice to use some different roads to our more usual and well-known ones. A few missed slots cost us several minutes but overalll very pleased with the result.
Colin, the clock face works as follows: Approach on the minute and leave on the hour - at least that's how I did it and it worked. Sometimes works the other way, though....
Kevin + Tarna
well done, Graham, on your first attempt at organising a CMC 12 car. I had the chance of driving him ahead of the field putting the code boards up... the man is well fit!! ;-)
A cracking route as everyone said at the finish. A couple of issues arose on the evening but they were very well dealt with.
See you in April, hopefully in the Mini!
A massive thanks to Graham and his team of marshals for an absolutely superb event on Friday. I wholeheartedly agree that the route was superb and I must congratulate the team on also booking some perfect 12-car weather! I travel the thick end of a 200-mile round trip to compete on CMC events but boy is it worth it... more of the same please. Ian
CMC March Hare Results “Final”
Hi all,
Many thanks for your support on last nights 12 Car.
I’m please to give you the Final Results of the evenings activities.
In the best tradition the results are:-
11th Car 3 Tony Hyatt/Ken Shields 3rd Beginner 15F OTL at Finish
10th Car 5 Paul Wicks/Tim Loftus 3rd Novice 0F OTL at Finish
9th Car 1 Gee Warner/Vini Cruz 2nd Beginner 5F 32 minutes
8th Car 12 Michael Helm/Colin Wake 4th Expert 3F 22 minutes
7th Car 7 Keith Lane/Mike Thomas 2nd Novice 2F 23 minutes
6th Car 10 Ellen Sutton/Colin Sutton 3rd Expert 1F 16 minutes
5th Car 2 Mark Rutter/Rachel |Rutter 1st Beginner 1F 11 minutes
4th Car 8 Ben Howlett/Simon Howlett 1st Novice 1F 10 minutes
3rd Car 4 Tarnia Ablitt/Kevin Ablitt 2nd Expert 0F 13 minutes
2nd Car 9 John Peterson/Ian Graham 1st Expert 0F 12 minutes
1st Car 11Eddie Call/Adrian Bragg 1st O/A 0F 10 minutes
Slight change from last nights provisional results is that Keith Lane/Mike Thomas move into 7th O/A and Michael Helm/Colin Wake drop down 1 place to 8th O/A. For Keith and Mikes benefit, I checked the regs and the penalty for early arrival at a TC is 2 minutes for every minute (regs 13 f) early and not as thought. Anyway, the results are now “Final”. A more comprehensive results sheet will be available shortly.
Looking at the results you all did extremely well. I was expecting everyone to “Clean it”, so I am pleased to see it made you think. Even Luis and I did not manage to do it in the time and we knew where we were going.
Many, many thanks to all the marshals, especially Paul Brewerton and Tony Burchnall who had the busiest time of all.
Don’t forget, the last 12 Car of the Winter Series is the April Blossom so keep checking the website for the entry form. I’m sure it will be over subscribed and I am sure it will be a Cracker, so get your entries in early.
Thanks again to one and all.
Best Regards,
Graham.
Event Secretary.
Hi Lius,
No you are right. Thanks for pointing that out. Not a good idea to do the results late on a Satutday night. Arriving early at a TC is, Regs 13(E), typo on my part. Making up too much time is, Regs 13(L) so Keith & Mike in Car 7 should be 3F and 21mins which does not alter the overall result. Phew !!!.
Thanks Luis, Great drive!!
Graham
