Mini Cooper S R53 For Sale - Cheap!

2006 Mini Cooper S, 6 speed manual, one of the last supercharged models before they changed over to turbo!

In the best colour of Hyper Blue with dark grey half leather interior. It has quite a good spec. Possibly a winter or climate pack with heated front windscreen, xenon headlights and air conditioning.  I bought this from another CMC member in 2022 (how time flies!) and have put nearly 20k miles on it, using as a daily driver, with the odometer now sitting at just under 142k.   As you would expect, it's an absolute hoot to drive with torquey little engine and the handling of a go-kart.  It has been very reliable, apart from a (not uncommon) failure of the power steering pump, obviously sorted!  Apart from this, I have kept it serviced and have replaced various brake pipes, discs, pads, tyres etc. and other consumable items as and when required.

She passed the MOT today with a couple of advisories to take forwards - some minor corrosion on the rear discs and some cracking on the rear pair of tyres.  These are dated 2020 and still have around 4mm of tread on them so are otherwise ok.  Other little minor niggles that I inherited with the car and have lived with as they occur so infrequently are a "check engine sensors" light and the rev counter throws an occasional wobbly (again a typical Mini fault).  The sensor fault I think was a crank sensor or similar (if I can find my scanner and IF it comes on again, I'll double check the code) never stayed on long enough to properly diagnose, and seems to be coincidental with heavy rain. I suspect water getting into a connector somewhere. The rev counter is likely either to be an internal fault or a poor 12v power connection.

The bodywork is not immaculate by any means. Although there are no significant dents or scrapes, there are plenty of stone chips on the bonnet and some bubbling around the base of the rear lights which is a common Mini rust area. The tailgate which also commonly rusts, looks absolutely fine.

I'm looking for £1450 ono for a quick sale, I have too many cars, not enough time and now the weather is getting better, I want to concentrate on my Classics!
