The Anglian Motor Sports Club, of which Chelmsford MC are a member are planning a Sunday Morning 12 Car regularity Run. The date is Sunday 14th August, first car away at 10.01. Start & finish location(s) to be confirmed but somewhere in central Suffolk (Bury/Stowmarket area). Format – breakfast, regularity A, coffee, regularity B, lunch. Simple navigation (some preplot) and not too many speed changes. Speed tables will be provided if needed. Tripmeters (brantz etc) recommended, any road rally legal car (ie no stickered or stripped out stagers). This is a social event, hence the breakfast/coffee/lunch but these are not compulsory, nor are they included in the entry fee.
This is a prototype event with the idea of a series during the Summer months in 2017.
If interested please contact Paul Brewerton by email at
.... the map on the info page will discourage entries? ;)
Public file attachments:
The Isle of Arran is a nice place, I drove a right hand drive car for the first time 10 years ago on there...
I agree on the map, though. Mind that everyone should know where approximately Bury St Edmunds is.
I like contributing with pointless messages to the forum. :-)
The regulations are published below. Please read them, especially the sections on navigation, timing and measured distance. Entries will open at the beginning of July. Marshals will also be required.
Thanks
Paul Brewerton
Since my laptop keeps playing up I don't know if it's a problem at my end but whenever I click on the file I only get lots of random symbols...
I won't be here in August but interested in seeing them.
Can anyone help?
I've removed Paul's attachment, and put PDF regs online in the usual places:
http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/cmc/12_Cars/1516/AMSC_Regularity_12Car_Regs.pdf
Entries for the AMSC Regularity 12 car are now open on the CMC Website. Entry fee £15, insurance £13 if needed. Please contact me if you wish to marshal or be a course car. I need 4 marshal crews to do 2 controls each, and a course closing car.
Thanks
Paul
Good to see entries up to 7 - still a few places left. Remember the event is open to all AMSC member clubs - SCCON, WSMC, ECMC, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Wickford, Falcon, KLDMC. I'm still looking for 4 marshal crews. Offers gratefully accepted.
Paul
Hi
With just over a week to go we now have 8 entries, so still a few places left. Why not ocme and enjoy a nice social event on a summer Sunday morning. I now have a course closing car (Thanks Simon Bartholomew) but still need a few marshals to do 2 controls each. The event is very compact and will all be over in a couple of hours. Competitors, why not ask your other half to marshal then you can reward them with a nice Sunday lunch at the Sorrel Horse!
Any offers to marshal post on here or email me at
Thanks
Paul
Update Tuesday evening. Thanks to a couple of marshals we are now just one short of our ideal number, but can cope. I also have an experienced navigator, one Bob Blows, who is looking for a ride. The only thing is he needs picking up from Stansted, and your car must have a functioning tripmeter. We can accept late entries with cash on the day if anyone fancies it.
I have been greeted with a deafening silence as I appeal for volunteers to marshal for a couple of hours on Sunday Morning when there are no other local motorsport events on. At the moment it is likely that controls will have to be cancelled and one more marshal would make such a difference.
So if you compete on 12 cars, targas or autosolos now is your chance to give something back for all those hours of pleasure you've had while others marshal for you. Don't worry if you haven't done it before, it's all quite straightforward and I will be happy to show you the ropes!
If you can help please email
or post a message here and I'll get back to you!
Thanks
Paul
Paul, I bumped into Harvey Steele today and it seems he has an unavoidable demand on his time this Sunday and won't be running, so car 1 will be a DNS.
Colin.
Thanks for letting me know Colin. On the plus side I think we now have enough marshals.

Thanks to everyone involved in this event - I think we have enough interest to proceed with a Summer Series in 2017. Particular thanks to Simon and Gary for closing course car duties and John& Cindy Booty, Neil Wackett, Marcus Keeble and Ian Rowles for marshalling.
Results are here.
Paul
This was a wonderful way to spend a summer Sunday morning. Excellent work Paul in getting it off the ground and thanks to all the marshals who made it possible. And Rachel & Owen, 19 seconds? Respect.
Many congratulations to Rachel Vestey and Owen Turner, who won the event with a total penalty score of just 19 seconds over 8 regularity controls. A superb performance, well done.

Great even Paul, very sociable , and nicely presented. I have much to learn on the regularity rally format , but plotting the right route would have helped me to avoid a 4 min 24 s early arrival ! Thank you marshals and David for chaffeuring.
