Come on. Whos going to fill the last place. Good shake down for crews doing the Preston. I promise straight forward navigation. Dont wait and be disappointed
with well over a month to go and it's almost a full entry!!
A full entry for the Woodbridge Targa too and the Preston is almost there...
CMC must be doing something good :)
Beth Drake would like to try her hand at navigation again for this rally, (beginner) our entry form is in the Post. Jim Drake White Mini cooper 's' 1969
Hi Jim, that makes full house. Entries now open for reserve list. Still post as both previous rallies had reserves and they got runs due to drop outs.
A crew has withdrawn their entry - so there now a space to be filled as we would like to run with a full entry.
Cheers
Dave
, Unfortunately Pat has had to withdraw his entry because he has sold his car. Just a thought his navigator is now free. If any driver thinking of entering maybe worth a call !!!
I know Steve Radley is always on the lookout for a navigator (after his previous one Little Dave succumbed to terrible Mal-de-Nav), I have sent him a nudging message.
Cheeers
Colin
Steve has just bought a Mini and also joined the mighty Essex Mini Club... with a 850cc engine!

I have indeed bought a Mini. :) I'm also still keen on the car rallies if anyone want to nav for me? Either Mini powered or Mk1 Triumph powered? ;)
Pats navigator was Stuart Collett. Anyone got contact details for him, so Steve can see if he could be tempted to come out??
I will pm him to see if he is interesed. Will keep you posted.
I have spoke to Stuart, He is up for navigating for others. His email is

I've emailed him :)
I feel compelled to say a few words about Stuart Collett. Over the many years I have been rallying I have had a lot of navigators sit next to me. for lots of those years it was Ed Scott so I know a good one when I see one. stuart has not done many events but I believe he has the potential to be extremely good, we have done three 12 cars and the preston last year. we have won awards on two of the 12 cars and he has jumped up to novice class. he brought us home in 13th spot on the preston. he is one of the few I have used that can plot on the move so if you are thinking about giving him a ride you could do a lot worse
Cheers Pat, thanks for the advice and pointers. it's been great sitting next to you.
Just to updated my email address as there is a typo above in should be google.
stuartcollett81@googlemail.com
Cheers Stuart
Today I have sent an email to all the drivers entered that wish to take the RTA Insurance cover for this event.
Please contact me if you have not received the email
Many Thanks
Dave

Hi
Spoken to Steve radley and I will navigate for him on the 29th, could we change the entry from myself and pat to myself and Steve for the 29th please Dave?
How that's ok.
Will keep my eye on the posts/replies on here, it used to email replies to me but does not seem to do that anymore?
Cheers
Stuart
Hi Stuart, yes thats fine. Send David your amended entry sheet.
Is the map ref for the start/finish given on the regs/entry form correct?
I'm confused!
it is 022 293.
Cheers
Colin
Sorry due to a copy and paste error from the 2011 regs the start venue map reference is wrong.
Please use 022 293 as Map ref of start.
Seeding and finals will be posted by Wednesday evening.
Cheers

Big thanks for crews, organisers and marshals for another succesfull event. Hope you all enjoyed it. Well done to Mike and Colin.
It was a good one, John. I especially enjoyed being mal-de-nav free for the second time in a week. Kwells seem to be the answer for me.

Good route and nice choice of road types, all around lanes that Mark and I know quite well. Which makes it all much worse as we went very, very wrong in the first section and got lost on the map and on the road. Consequently we were OTL at the first control and went downhill from there. Still enjoyed the drive through the countryside though, and our new sections we made for ourselves to cut some of the official route.
Thanks John, and all the helpers and marshals.
Thanks to John and Dave for a great route, I enjoyed doing course car duties with Paul Barrett on the navigation. It was a good experience learning all the jobs that go behind the scenes when organising even the basic level of grass root motorsport.
Well done to all the award winners and competitors and thanks to all the marshals too.
Luis
oh, Paul took the box with all the boards but 4 or 5 wooden stakes are still in my car. I'll take them with me next weekend for the Preston if I find out what I'm doing...
... go on a vampire hunt?
... go on a vampire hunt?
now, where is the like button on here? :-)
Luis please keep a night out of bed fully booked for next weekend.
I have several marshals "on their own" including Dave Judd and I'd like to team you with someone.

thanks John for another good 12 car. I have to admit to being a bit apprehensive about using the GT6 due to it's very low stance and the fact that I haven't quite got it driving and handling aswell as I would like! However my fears were unfounded, we had another absolutely cracking drive, only scraping the exhaust once! On some great roads with no rain or ice to contend with, the old girl went well - although not as quick as the Dolly, not bad for a 47 year old car! We didn't get the result that we had hoped for, missing a code board after Stoke by Nayland put paid to that, then we had to stop to plot a couple of the trickier sections putting us just OTL at the penultimate time control, only to realise after that we could have cut the route to probably scrape it. Well done to Mike and Colin, a great result on his local roads :-)
Thanks to John and Team for a great rally, unfortunately we got herringboned. We cut TC7 , Then my mistake I plotted TC8 in the pub carpark so missed that one too! However Beth is really up for another crack at it , so bring on the Jan Jaunt!!
