Season's greetings everyone!
Jan Jaunt regs will soon be up. What better way to deal with post-Preston blues or Christmas hangovers than to stick in an entry for the first 12-car of 2014, and get back to some kind of reality and normal life?!
Chris, Andy
Entry in the post for Jim and Beth Drake in Ausin Cooper 's' Snowberry White with black roof. Beth is navigator and a beginner. Looking Forward to it - hope there is less snow this year!
Hi Chris, Andy, hope you had a good Xmas. Entry form in the post for Graham and Jane Robinson Fiat 500.
Regards,
Graham
Ellen & I have our entry in the post, whenever the world gets back to work it will probably arrive.
Colin.
MikeyB & Darren A are posted! Hoping the roads are not going to be too bumpy so that the GT6 can have another airing :-)
..... for Mike and Mark in the Mk3 Spitfire.
I've sent an entry in to give the Metro a shakedown prior to the South Down Stages.
I've renewed my club membership on the entry form and my navigator has paid in the entry to become a member of CMC. Will there be club cards available at the event? I'll be needing mine a week or two after the 12 car for the stage rally.
Apologies, my phone no in the regs is incorrect and should be 01277 225665, should anyone need it.
Andy

Please update my entry to Novice as Lucy has completed some events previous to being my Nav.
Thanks
Jon Bray
He is a list of entries as I have received them. We do have 3 reserve entries, if any of the 12 crews that have got a place and you are unable to make it for any reason please let me know ASAP so I can get the 3 reserves a run.

You will also notice that a couple of people have changed class. This information has been given to me by Tony Michael
Can I ask why my daughter Beth has been upgraded to Novice? She has only done 3 CMC events as navigator, and one other mini event. And never finished in the top 5. The 15 mins pre-plot time will be the difference between finishing, and an early OTL as her plotting skills develop. Could I ask that she remains as a beginner for this event, as she is looking forward to it?
Jim Drake
It looks like not everyone entered for the January Jaunt will get a run.
If anyone is prepared to travel to Bedfordshire we have been invited to CSMA's 12 Car on 17th January:
http://www.csmanwl.com/BigEnd.asp?v=659&a=650
Before anyone else mention sit, I beleive Mr Ham has been telling some porkies as to our class.
We are now (sadly) experts having won 3 12-cars events.
Cheers

Jim Drake[/quote]
That is a mistake. Let's make it 5 CMC events before becoming a Novice, as it is hard for me to know about other 12 cars.
will marshall if no one else drops out
Please contact us if you are able to marshal on the Jan Jaunt, we still need to cover 3 or 4 controls. Start and finish is at Birchanger Services and the whole route is east of the M11 so it's not far to travel for most CMC members I guess!
Thanks in advance,
Andy
ps thanks Mike for your offer if you don't get a run.
Andy
Do you have Peter and I down as course closer? If you have that covered by someone else then we can marshal.
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
Yes we do. If you could do the start control as well that would be great.
Thanks.
Andy

Ham & Porkies.......very good Colin :)
I Andy, I will probably be able to marshall work permitting, and fetch along a willing beginner
Thanks Brian, that's great,
Andy
ps got a contact number? My email is in the regs.
We still need marshals for 3 controls at least - if you can help out please let us know.
Your assistance will be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Andy
Did you get my e-mail Andy?
Yes, thanks.
Final Regs with a list of QZ's etc will be issued at signing-on, which will take place inside the services building (in the warm!).
The seeded entry list is more or less the same as Chris has posted here earlier, but the final list will be put up tomorrow or Wednesday.
First car will leave at 2015hrs, and enough fuel for 50 miles should be carried.
Crews not signed on by 1945hrs may be replaced by reserves, so please allow plenty of time for the formalities. Thanks.
The route was run late last week and although there were some large puddles none were too deep for Mini's but we would advise caution when negotiating. There has been little rain since and we expect the 'puddles' to diminish in size and depth considerably, unless there is more serious rainfall before Friday.
Also we still need marshals for 2 controls so if you can help please get in touch. Many thanks in advance!
Andy
So is Beth Drake back to a beginner now? only 3 previous CMC events?? Plotting in the services would be a lot nicer for her than on the move!
Jim
We have 1 control un-manned near Gt Dunmow, first car due 2040hrs approx. CAN YOU HELP? Please.
Andy
Hi Andy - Mark has come down with a bad cold so is wondering whether he can compete or not. He will let me know for sure later today. If he does not compete, and I think it's unlikely from what he says, I'll marshal the Gt Dunmow control.
I'll let you know as soon as I do.
Hi Andy - I'm available to marshal at Gt Dunmow as Mark is still not well and we have decided to withdraw.
ok that looks like I get a drive, but what about the two controls I was down to marshal for Andy?
Um.....you've bowled us a googly there! Mike and Mark's dropping out is late in the day and we are short of marshals which is why I asked you to do 2 controls. However I will see if we can sort something tomorrow.
Andy
give me call after 1130 or before 0900!
Thanks to organisers for a great event last night and a particularly big thanks to the marshals who were stood out in that horrible weather...much appreciated!! Really enjoyed it last night...great to get back into 12 cars in such a friendly club. :)
Quick question though...do results normally get posted on here or should I be looking elsewhere at some point? And would it be possible to get my timecard back at a clubnight or something? Thanks!!
thanks for a great nights sport. nice little route and considering the weather the timing was about spot on. thanks to Stuart for navigating with a clean sheet. having finished the event with no dramas we left Birchhanger and on the roundabout a large black 4x4 drove into us, denting the front wing
Clean Tc1, nearly at Tc2, rear-ended. Neck sore, car very bent, not our best night. Hope everyone else enjoyed it.
Detailed results are usually posted here later on the week.
Big thanks to Andy, Chris and all the bunch of marshals on yet another wet night. It was a fantastic route. We were happy to get all the boards and when John said we had only dropped 9 minutes I was happy with it too, enough to get us a 3rd overall... which is consistent with our last 4 or 5 rallies!!
Sorry to hear about Ellen and Colin's incident, I hope it's all sorted out.soon.
Thanks again to everyone involved, John for a brilliant navigation and his son Adam for allowing us to use his car. See you at the next one, hopefully in the Mini this time.
Luis (Ford Ka)
Seems like the course cars were the only ones to hit the potholes hard enough to puncture, although two competitors fell foul of Mr. J. Public. Must be galling to be sideswiped on your way home Pat. Hope everyone is OK. Well done everyone, shame we were too late back to see most of you at the finish! Great route, Andy! Looking forward to course carring the next one! (ps I've seen the route and it's a cracker!)
Paul & Peter
Andy, many thanks to you and Paul for an enjoyable event. Always good to try some new lanes in Essex. Sorry to hear of the two incidents and hope all are OK. Many thanks to all the marshals for supporting the event.
Graham & Jane
Great event. Thanks Marshall's and organisers.
Was good to get out marshalling again last night, thanks to those that thanked us, well chuffed with my son Richard and his nav Nigel for their result :-), shame about the spot lights. Brian and Chris TC3
we saw a spotlight in the road on a LH bend just before TC6.........
It was Richard Milbanks. We were following him when we came around a 90 left and he was facing towards us with debris on the road.
Glad everyone, mostly, enjoyed it and commiserations to the two crews taking a knock from Joe P., especially Ellen and Colin as it sounds quite a thump. Hope you and the car recover quickly. It was also a night for punctures among the marshals, we got one just after Jim's control and on the way home Chris took a blow-out on the rear at speed on a very wet A120. The rally Rover carries 2 spares fortunately. Paul and Peter swapped a wheel too. Apologies to the experts for the v.diff last time card but you did find your way back! Dave had some entertainment at TC7 by the forest car park, young hools doing doughnuts, quite a crowd. Not a quiet control.
Must say a huge thanks to all the marshals for a great job on a very wet night, and I include Ed and Ben who did the boards and got very wet, thanks guys.
The results will be up soon. Congratulations to Pat and Stuart for winning with 0F 0Mins, a great result considering the conditions. And thanks to all the competitors for entering. In spite of the weather we enjoyed it too!
Chris and Andy
Thanks to Lucy for getting me round last night, i really enjoyed it!!
Thanks to the organising team and for the Marshall's that braved the terrible weather.
Do hope that everyone did get home safely after their RTC escapades and no long term injuries.
Jon Bray
... for my rather terse post this morning. I was still feeling very sorry for myself and Ellen, and of course the car. I am pretty sure the Audi will be written off - if that is the driver can be traced. He actually got out, slurred a few insults at us and drove off. We thought we had the number, but had confused a 5 and a 6. Was sorted last night, car is identified so awaiting what Essex police can do. Of course, insurance on an event is not comprehensive, so unless we can claim from him we will just have to swallow it. Which will probably mean I buy another and strip the damaged one for spares.
Hence I am looking at A3s on the internet tonight - which is slightly odd as I actually bought an Endurance car today. That was a purchase planned before the accident last night, but as we used the Audi for everyday as well it does need replacing. Just when I thought we had thinned the fleet out by losing 2 Triumphs we seem to be filling the drive and the garage up again. Until I sell the Rover Cooper that is.
So we may be out in a Proton for the next 1 car, if I can drag Ellen into it - which is by no means certain........
Anyway, thanks as always to the organisers and marshals for making last night possible - just wish we had seen more of you. And well done to those who made it without incident and with such good scores on a filthy night.
Thanks to Andy for sqeezing us in at the last minute. Due to the blessed Post Office, my entry (posted 1st class) took nearly two weeks to arrive, so I ended up on the reserve list. With no entry, my nav who lives in Lancashire, never made the trip down so I was due to marshall two controls. Then due to a last minute withdrawl (get well soon Mark!), a place became available. With no nav for me, I offered a drive to another mate Steve, with me in the passenger seat. Not the usual side for me!
Although I know my way reasonably well around a map, I am very slow at plotting and find it almost impossible to do on the move so by the time we got to the last two sections, depite cutting directly between time controls, we picked up 2 OTL's. Shame as without the time constraints, the plotting and the route looked fairly straightforward. Still we both had a good time, although I think I prefer the right hand seat!
It probably worked out the best for this one as I'm not sure how well the GT6 would have coped with the cavernous potholes and all that water!
Many Thanks Andy for a very enjoyable evening. I am impressed you managed to arrange so much rain in such a short period beforehand, a few times it felt like we were riding over the surface on teh floorpans.
Not so impressed with the potholes though, I can't thank you for them, but I can thank ECC. We will not be surprised ifthe TR6 has another wonky rim or 2. No punctures though.
Once I have done the final checks I will get the entries openned for the February event, hopefully in a few days time.
I will be looking for some marshalls, in an area just west of Ipswich, so all volunteers welcome!
Cheers
Colin
January Jaunt Results are here.
Many thanks for an entertaining event on Friday night.
Also thanks to Mikeyb for his calm and collected navigational manor. I enjoyed the event immensly despite the attrocious conditions and potholes which left me with a flat tyre on Saturday morning due to battering a wheel rim on the event. :)
Beth and I enjoyed the event, shame we got a bit lost trying to find TC6 and ended up going against rally traffic and visiting the dreaded temporary lights three times , which seamed to take for ever to change to Green.
The mini coughed and spluttered a bit on the last section but survived the wet stuff well for the rest of it, I am thinking of fitting a rudder for the next event!!!!
Sorry to hear about the RTA's glad no-one was seriously hurt.
Thanks again to the organisers and marshalls who braved the elements.
Jim and Beth Drake- Austin Mini Boat.
Hey Steve, just seen the results, looked like we came 1st CT, but then I realised I was looking at the running order! :-)
