Dear CMC Member,
 
Since 2020 we have been holding our Annual General Meetings on Zoom to present a review of the year, approve the accounts for the year ended 31st October 2024, elect the senior officials and committee and allow members to raise questions about the management of the club, its events and future strategy. Please join us for 30-40 minutes on 27th February.

Historical Rallying Documents?

I'm creating a database of events and results of rallies I (or other rallying colleagues) was involved in over the 50+ years. Scanning, filing and indexing any documentation I can find. Deep searching on the Internet has revealed many historical gems of results and photographs, including those archived on the CMC website. The database will go public sometime this year.

Changes to MSUK RS Clubman's Licences

CMC would like to make all competitors with the Motorsport UK RS Clubman's licence aware that this level of licence does not automatically include personal injury insurance for 2025. This is a change for 2025.

For competitors with licences 'above' the free RS Clubman's licence, you automatically get insurance cover.

For competitors with the free RS Clubman's licence, you can upgrade this to include personal injury insurance.

Detective Work

We have been contacted about an old car, which has history within the Chelmsford area. If anyone has any knowledge or details about the car, then please get in touch.

I am doing a bit of detective work in trying to locate car I built over 40 years ago and I wondered if you could circulate this message to your members as I think it is resident in the Chelmsford area.

Bob Smith - Funeral 24th October 2024

As posted on the website last month Bob Smith passed away on 22nd September 2024

Bob's funeral is on Thursday 24th October at 10.00 am at the Riverview Chapel, Basildon District Crem SS13 2HG where club members & rally folk that knew him are welcome.  We can wear rally clothing as long as we are smart.

A celebration of his life will then take place at 11.30 at Rayleigh WI Hall , Bellingham Lane, SS6 7ED where light refreshments will be available.

Bob Smith - RIP

It is with great regret I must confirm the passing of club member Bob Smith yesterday morning.

Bob was a regular attendee at Chelmsford Club Nights along with Barry Suker, Dean Fewings & Kim Gale.

He had suffered from ill health for a number of years firstly hips & knees, then a pacemaker and finally cancer.

AutoTest & AutoSolo's

Can anyone tell me if Autotests & AutoSolo's do double drive's please? 

We've entered a few Targa's, however Our car and finances don't allow us to enter the other event types, we'd like to try some other events within our eligibility, but we prefer to enter events where we both get to drive, so even if we aren't particularly competitive, we get to compete against each other. 

I've read a few old regs, but can't see if they do or not.

Pete Rayner RIP

We are heartbroken to inform you all that my husband Pete Rayner has passed away. He passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening with myself and family at his bedside after a long health battle.
He is no longer suffering and leaves an enormous Big Pete sized hole in our lives.
We are currently spending time together as a family and would appreciate some privacy in the immediate days.
We will share details of his funeral once arranged.
