Anglia Motor Sport Club - Motorsport UK Club of the Year 2022

Congratulations to Anglia Motorsport Club which has been voted Motorsport UK's Club of the Year for 2022!

Chelmsford Motor Club is one of the founding members of this 'umbrella' club of East Anglian motor clubs and runs all of its 12 car and targa rallies under the AMSC banner.

AMSC has been very active in developing new events, introducing new people to the sport, hosting training sessions and progressing the 'better together' equality and diversity programme in a practical way that is having a positive impact on the sport both regionally and nationally.

2022/23 MGJ Engineering Circuit Rally Championship

MGJ Engineering Circuit Rally Championship launched.

The circuit rally championship organising clubs are pleased to announce details for the 2022/23 season.

This Championship is organised jointly by all the event organising clubs, with Dukeries Motor Club Ltd holding the Motorsport UK Championship Permit on behalf of the group.

We thank Mick Johnson and MGJ Engineering for sponsoring this new Championship.

Stebbing Fete / Car Show - September 4th

Chelmsford Motor Club members are invited to attend and display their cars at this year's Stebbing car car & fete.

This year the organisers have space for up to 85 cars up from 63 last year, but these need to be registered in advance.

Free beer or tea/coffee for all drivers displaying their cars, who will be eligible for the Best in Show prize

Doors open at 11am; you can come and go at any time.

Green Belt Autocross 14 Aug- Any Car Will Do - See below

Green Belt/AMSC are running an Autocross at Much Hadham near Harlow on Sunday 14 th August.

This event is firmly aimed at "clubmen" with road cars eligible, with no mods. Targa Cars ideal.  Road Cars will run one at a time. The only safety equipment needed is a helmet . Basic gloves & overalls are required but they dont need to meet current homologation for overalls so appeal to borrow out of date kit if you dont have it.  Read the regs for full details.

Richard Atherton RIP

It is sad to report the passing away of Richard Atherton a CMC member from 2007 to 2017, and regular Preston competitor & marshal. Adrian Gladwin, a close friend of Richard, has posted a lovely obituary on The Preston Rally facebook page.
