Brands Hatch - a Celebration of Teamwork

jimbowie's picture

Despite tricky icy conditions for SS1 at Brands Hatch yesterday, the whole event ran tremendously well thanks to the sterling efforts of the set up and change round teams lead by Mark Andrews  - Mandrews, Mandy or even Manboobs to his friends !

Mark is the Assistant Clerk of the Course responsibe for stage layout & set up. He's OCD with his cone alignement but we love him.

I will hereby name check the whole set up team, and to see if you are reading this allow you to remind of the people I forget.

Jan Jaunt 12 Car needs marshals!

Help! We still need to organise 7 marshals (or more) so we can run the 12-car in eight days time!

You do not have to come to the start or finish, just turn up at the control location at the right time. The route starts and finishes in Mountnessing, keeps to the west of Chelmsford, north of the A12, well east of the M11 and mostly south of the A1060. So it's not far to go!

If you can help out please text me on 07851 135363. We have a full entry list so your time will not be wasted, and your help will be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance. Andy

Bagger 2020 - Driver needed

ipg66's picture

I've secured an entry for the Bagger on 18/19 January 2020 - this is a hugely popular event and currently has several competitors on a reserve list.

Unfortunately the planned driver I was entered with is no longer available so I'm facing the prospect of withdrawing the entry. However, before I do so I thought I'd flag it up here to see if any Chelmsford MC members are up for it?

Stanta Targa Marshals Dec 29th.

We could still do with some more marshals for the AMSC Stanta's Christmas Targa on Dec 29th.

This IS the best Targa site this side of the country. Much of the event is on loose tracks and we have a full entry. Because it is an active Training area we can only get access between Christmas and New Year so this is the only chance to see this extraordinary venue.

Preston Rally Congratulations to Keith & Martin Lane

jimbowie's picture

For those that weren't there , or not on facebook , Keith Lane with son Martin won The Preston yesterday.

The margin was tight , over last years runner up Mark Slatcher, but will nevertheless be sweet , as this was Keiths umpteenth go , having first attempted the event in 1985.

Huge congratulations to C of C Dave Taylor and son Stefan for a fabulous route and to all the other organisers , workers , marshals , set up and clear up , recovery , rescue , results , sponsors and competitors.

Navigator Register

Just putting it out there as an idea.

it seems to me that it is almost impossible to find a navigator these days. There are lots of events from      12 car's Targas, 20-20's and even stage events and you will regularly see posts on here and many other club sites asking for navigators. perhaps there are people out there that want to start doing some form of motor sport but just dont know anyone or how to go about it. even more experienced drivers sometimes find it hard to get the right man for the job.

TonyM's picture

For 2020 Motorsport UK is introducing the requirement for all competitors to hold a new RS Clubman licence as a minimum, which will be free of charge. If you compete, but don’t currently hold a licence you will need to apply for this.

These changes will affect Autosolos, Autotests, Trials, Cross Country, Road Rallying, 12 Cars and Scatters. Passengers will also now be required to hold an RS Clubman licence.
