Brands/Clacton - Rally Stage Team ( R S T )

I notice that R S T is being used for Marshal registration on both Brands and Clacton ( don't know about Snetterton ).

Having registered on  RST previously for Wales Rally GB, I sincerely hope that  the website is easier to use now than it was a couple of years ago !

As far as I'm concerned, the use of RST just means I cannot register my team of friends for either event -  possibly with the result that not all of them who want to attend will have the patience to  fill in the questions on the  rather klutzy  website form to register.

Unless, of course the website has improved immeasurably since I last used it.     If others have registered OK recently, do please say !

RST use

I'm really sorry you've had a bad experience with RST in the past, and hopefully it has improved since you used it a couple of years ago. It is clearly new to many of us too as we usually use Tony's excellent system, however this change has originated out of a request through the Clacton organising team. We are trying it out with Brands for all of us (organisers and marshals) to see how it works. As with all new things there are likely to be some issues along the way, but we hope we can help with those to make the process as smooth as possible......your help is very much valued and desired so we really do want you there! I created an account earlier this year and didn't find it too onerous but that is of course a personal opinion.

I believe that as long as friends are on the system, you should be able to select them to be in your team if you make yourself a team leader for the event....they don't need to have already signed up to Brands, just created an account on the website. If you're at all unsure, you can always confirm to us by email about your team members.

Thank you to yourself and all others for your patience whilst we all trial this new process, and we will be open to evaluative feedback from the experience.

Rally Stage Team

Hi Lucy

Thanks for your reply -  the suggestion for how to sign up friends I did know about but hadn't thought of.   Obviously if RST can ease the burden of organising a multi-venue event like Clacton, then it must be worth a try, as we are - after all -  volunteers with a home life ! Let's see how it goes - but at least there is always the long-stop of a list by email !!

As I said, WRGB used Rally Stage Team,  but of most help for the Marshals in the run-up to the event was that the Stage Commander of Elsi Stage - Jon Aston  - had set up a Private Facebook Group , accessible only ( by invitation )  to marshals registered on that stage. On that, he was able to post snippets and photos about the stage, as well as timing changes, access points  etc. It obviously did not replace the statutory notices and Marshals' Instructions, but did provide an quick way of getting questions or problems addressed prior to the event , was separate to the event website or FB page and questions etc  could be answered by other than the Admin. .  Possibly something for Clacton ?

RST use

Thanks for your understanding George  :)   And yes the idea of trialling it with Brands is that it is an event we can manage the situation of if something goes a bit awry.

I'll take forward your idea of a Facebook group for marshals to the Clacton marshal organisation meetings in the future for discussion - thank you for suggesting it.

Registering for Saturday in Clacton

Hi Nick,

From what I understand, you must do a separate registration for Saturday. At least that's what it says here https://corbeauseatsrally.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/CSRTC-Registr...

I hope this helps. If not, let us know and we'll look into it.

Help document for RST

In case anyone else reading this thread is struggling with using RST, I'm hoping the attached document may help. It talks through step-by-step, with images and text, how to both create an account and how to register for an event.

It is created with instructions for Clacton as that is more complicated involving 2 days (you basically register twice - once for each day), but the same process would work for Brands.

Thank you again for your patience!
