Classic Mercedes Magazine - Lizzie Pope's Article

Hi Lizzie
I have just been to have my haircut - whilst waiting I was surprised to find and was happy to be entertained by an article on your Hughes Rally by you in the first edition.
Good article - mag looks great to - ( if you are a Merc nut ) Is there another edition planned?

Anyone want to do the Mercian Rally tomorrow night?

I'm already entered but I think my driver won't be able to compete as planned. So I'm thinking of swapping seats if anyone fancies navigating.

The entry's already paid for and maps bought, so it's just a case of turning up.

Car's a road rally spec Nova and I'm a sensible driver - and we won't get lost!

Let me know (pm) if interested.

Inter Association Road Rally

TonyM's picture

This year's Inter Association Road Rally is the Guy Fawkes Navigational Rally - 24th/25th Nov 2012, a week before the Preston.

It starts from the Jamaica Inn, Bolventor, PL15 7TS in Cornwall, and runs through the forests of Dunmere, Hustyns, Bishops, Lanskin and two runs through Halvana.

Hopefully the AEMC or ASEMC associations will put together teams, and will contribute towards the costs.

yet another spectator death...

minispaniard's picture

it's being one of the worst years recently in number of serious incidents... news like this are always sad, but this time is a bit more special to me as it is my 'local' rally, the Principe de Asturias rally, valid for European and Spanish Rally Cahmpionships, takes place in the region where I come from and headquarters are in my hometown Oviedo.

EEC Legislation Proposals

According to ACE theres some legislation that will restrict modification of road cars - regardless of usage. I have not had time to take a good look at all the links.

I have no opinion on this - just been urged to share the link with other enthusiasts, by a colleague who is concerned.

JJJ 1st July - Venue Change

Javalin's Jumbo Jymkhana will now be held at MOD Woodbridge on 1st July. Debden is no longer available owing to a mix up of dates at the base - an ATC Wing Day with 1200 air cadets is being held (but the ATC forgot to tell the base commander's office!). The driving tests will be challenging as usual, but not as much gravel as at Debden. We hope to be back at Debden later in the year.
