Spare remote control car for Rally Club?

If anyone has a remote control car tucked away in a loft or garage which doesn't get used any more, would you mind donating or lending it to KEGS Motorsport - the rally club I have set up at our school?   My idea being that apart from training up students on 12 car navigation, we could also have a go at some Targa style events using cones and a remote control car.   It would need to have reasonable handling to be able to go round cones but the range/distance wouldn't need to be too big as the students could walk near it.

Do you think you and your family could survive in the wilderness?

To all members.

We are invited at £10 per car to either visit this new event or display your own competition or interesting cars.  Damyns Hall is a small airfield just south of Upminster so quite close to home for lots of us.

10 am to 6.00 pm Sunday 19 July.  I'm going in a membership recruiting role and Brian Petty is taking his Moke.

Request for help to move equipment from Woodbridge to Chelmsford Saturday 27th June

Many of you may be aware that CMC have to relocate our equipment from Woodbridge.

We have been fortunate that Channels near Chelmsford has allowed us to add another container to our existing one, and we will be moving all our cones etc. from Woodbridge on Saturday 27th June.

A number of committee members have already committed to helping with this move, if you are available to assist please let me know either by email at

Chelmsford MC - Club Questionnaire

Suze's picture

A number of years ago, the committee of Chelmsford Motor Club undertook a review of club activities to understand the wishes of members and to help the club plan for the future. Since then, the club and events, as well as motor sport in the region, have continued to develop and of course we have welcomed many new members.

With that in mind, we'd like to ask you if you could please spare a few minutes to complete the 2015 club questionnaire which can be found at http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/node/4407

David Everett 1941-2015

Chelmsford Motor Club and the motorsport community has lost one its great stalwart members, David Everett. David had been a member of the club almost since its foundation in 1956, was an competitor in many forms of the sport over several decades, a member of the Motorsport UK Autotest committee and in recent years an almost permanent fixture marshalling on club events.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his widow, Elizabeth, and the rest of his family.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised, but the funeral is expected to be in early June.

Woodbridge Announcement

Following the recent Chelmsford Motor Club stage rally at MOD Woodbridge it is with regret that I must announce that Chelmsford Motor Club will not be able to use the venue for the foreseeable future.

Subsequent to an incident that resulted in damage to a security fence, the base commander has decided that he no longer wishes to allow Chelmsford Motor Club to use MOD Woodbridge.

This does not affect the use of MOD Woodbridge by other motor clubs.

Luggage / Box trailer

richardnel's picture

Just wondered on the off chance whether a kindly sole may have a sturdy small box or camping / luggage trailer they may be willing to lend or hire for a nominal sum, in the Chelmsford / surrounding area.  Ideally would like to avoid having to take two cars to Leeds to retreive my daughter and her worldly belongings and bring them back, this coming Saturday.

Contact Richard 07887 595675.

Cheers
