See you all at the club tonight

According to the doom mongers we'll be snowed in for the next few days . . .so it will be good to get out tonight to talk about Brands and the X Part.

Awards Thanks to Tony Michael and Ed Scott

What a good turn out last night and thanks to winners that drove in from far afield.

On behalf of Richard & myself thank you Tony & Ed for the trophy work , and photo display of the award winners.

Tony has inserted the discretionary award winners on the Forum - including the new Gregg Mint Chairmans Trophy winner Paul Dumbill and New member winners Luis & Sofia Diaz..

I was not so honoured to win the Fender Bender for wrecking my TVR on the way home from the Woodbridge Stages but hey ho I'm still here to laugh about it.

awards night

what an evening!

It was great to receive the Newcomers award, I wasn't really expecting it. As I said last night the merit goes to all CMC members for being such a welcoming and friendly lot, we have really enjoyed joining all the different events in 2012.

It all started back in January with our first 12 car rally, since then I think we haven't missed any organised by CMC either competing or marshaling, they are great fun and there's always a fantastic atmosphere.
Marshaling at the Xpart was one of the highlights of the year, cold as ever but having everyone making you feel part of the event was great and I didn't know many of you by then. Of course I'll be back this year with a couple of friends.
In June we had our first contact with the gymkhana at Woodbridge, keeping an eye on you lot going the right way round the cones. We saw you having so much fun that we had to enter as competitors on the following one. We'll never regret it and now we're really looking forward to the Targa in March.
That very same week I had a go at the WSMC Autosolo at Waterbeach, again lots of help and advice from fellow competitors. I must admit I found it very tricky, even knowing the alphabet quite well...

Sofia will now have to take it easier as, some of you know, there's a little BritSpaniard coming to the household in July... I'll try to keep myself active as much as possible, to begin with I've teamed up with John Conboy for the January Jaunt next week... bring it on!!

So, on behalf of Sofia and myself THANK YOU very much for the Best Newcomers recognition, It's a real honour coming from such a great club as CMC is.

See you on the roads.

Luis

Mini Brit Spaniard navigator

Congratulations Sofia & Luis.
The Motorsport UK Blue Book defines minimum ages for being involved in road / Targa / 12 car rallies - as a passenger (in a child seat) - 2 years, as a navigator 12 years, so perhaps we won't have to wait too long for a new Brit Spaniard rally team!
